For Employees

If you are an Aspen EAP member and would like to make an appointment, call 815.399.9700 option 4. Life can be tough, even a struggle at times. While we can often cope and work through our day-to-day challenges, they do sometimes become too much for us to handle alone. As a comprehensive employee assistance program, Aspen offers access to trained therapists, as well as resources and education, to help ease the stress of daily life and deal with the challenges that may arise. You do not need to wait until a situation becomes a crisis; you can get the help you need today in a friendly and confidential environment.

What can the EAP do for me?

As your new EAP, we are here to work with you and your family to help meet needs ranging from managing day-to-day stresses to mental health and substance abuse disorder counseling. In addition, we can provide consultation and referrals for appropriate services in the community.

What types of services do you provide?

Aspen offers professional assistance in the following areas:
  • Stress
  • Marital/family difficulties
  • Financial concerns
  • Alcohol/drug abuse
  • Mood disorders
  • Job performance
  • Legal problems
  • Lifestyle management
  • Other identified concerns

Will my co-worker know I’m getting services?

Not without your consent. All services you receive at Aspen fall under the realm of federal confidentiality. Your records are kept private unless you wish to disclose them to a third party. No records can be released, even to human resources, without your written consent.

Is there really a benefit to counseling?

Absolutely! Discussing your problems with an objective therapist can help you gain insight and develop reasonable solutions. Our therapists are trained in solution-focused therapy and will work with you to develop effective coping strategies and prevention plans to best deal with your problems.

What am I eligible for? Who can receive services?

As an employee of a participating employer, you are eligible for three to six sessions per calendar year, depending on your company’s plan. Those appointments may be spaced out or used over the span of a few weeks. At Aspen, we believe that many problems are best resolved when family members are incorporated into treatment. We provide the same five-session model for all eligible family members. Aspen contracts with most insurance companies to help ensure continuity of care for clients who may need additional services once their EAP benefits have been exhausted.

How do I make an appointment?

It is as simple as picking up the phone or sending an email. We can be reached at 815.399.9700 or, after 7 p.m., at 815.708.4768. You also can send an email to us using our contact page here, if you have questions about services. Simply tell the receptionist who you are employed with and that you are interested in counseling. We will take care of the rest.
